Abstract:

The high content of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide in natural gas from high sulfur gas fields, as well as the strong toxicity and high corrosivity, greatly increase the safety and environmental protection risks of natural gas purification units. Puguang Gas Field is the first domestically developed high sulfur gas field in China. Its natural gas purification plant has been operating safely and steadily for 14 years since it was put into operation in 2009. It has exported 120 billion cubic meters of natural gas and sold 24 million cubic meters of sulfur, both have reached the highest quality level of national standards. The corrosion rate of the unit is controlled below 0.02 mm/a, and the mass concentration of SO₂ in the discharged flue gas is less than 200 mg/m³, and the energy consumption for comprehensive treatment of 10,000 cubic meters of raw gas is less than 6,400 MJ, and there have been no safety or environmental accidents. A series of complete sets of technologies have been established in corrosion protection, safety control, environmental standards improvement, quality and efficiency enhancement, providing technical support and reference for the successful development and production of high sulfur gas field.
