Abstract: Since the styrene plant of a company is built and put into operation, it has gone through two operation cycles. During this period, different parts of the unit polymerized in varying degrees, especially in the triple heat exchanger, air-cooled tube bundle and outlet, compressor outlet pipeline and heat exchanger, and manhole in distillation column, which caused local shutdown and cleaning or equipment replacement. At the same time, when the temperature is high in summer, the production reduction measures can only be taken, which seriously affects the stable operation and economic benefits of the unit, and becomes the bottleneck of long-term operation. Based on the analysis of the current operation of the unit and the factors affecting styrene polymerization, according to the position of the unit where polymerization is easy to occur, measures such as adjusting relevant process parameters and strengthening data monitoring are proposed. Taking advantage of the opportunity of overhaul, the relevant process and equipment are optimized and transformed. The polymerization phenomenon is alleviated, and the operation cycle is further extended.
