Analysis and Countermeasures on Abnormality of Tail Gas Incinerator in Sulfur Recovery Unit

Abstract:

The tail gas incinerator of a sulfur recovery unit encountered problems such as leakage of the tail gas heater, frequent flameout of the furnace, and sulfur accumulation in the tail gas pipeline, resulting in excessive sulfur emissions. A thorough analysis of the causes of these problems was conducted, and a series of targeted measures were developed: For the leakage issue of the tail gas heater, the cross-line process of the tail gas treatment section was switched, and a nitrogen circulation system in the tail gas hydrogenation system was established, while upgrading the material; For the frequent flameout issue, the impurity content of sulfur-containing waste gas at the top of the tail gas upgrading and purification unit's oxidation reactor was controlled; For the sulfur accumulation issue in the tail gas pipeline, measures such as adding blind plates to the start-up flue gas line, adding nitrogen seals to the tail gas incinerator cross-line, or stopping the use of the cross-line, and discharging the waste gas from the top of the oxidation reactor after water washing were taken. The abnormalities of the tail gas incinerator were resolved, and the SO2 emission concentration met the special emission limit of atmospheric pollutants for process heaters (not exceeding 50mg/m³). The tail gas incinerator of the sulfur recovery unit achieved long-term stable operation.

摘要:

某硫磺回收装置尾气焚烧流程出现尾气加热器泄漏、频繁熄火及尾气管道积硫等问题,造成尾气硫排放超标。深入分析问题发生的原因,制定了一系列针对性措施:对尾气加热器泄漏问题,切换尾气处理部分跨线流程,建立尾气加氢系统氮气循环,同时升级材质;对频繁熄火问题,控制尾气提标净化单元氧化反应器顶部含硫废气杂质含量;对尾气管道积硫问题,采取开工烟气线加盲板、尾气焚烧炉跨线增设氮气密封或停用、氧化反应器顶部废气水洗后排放等措施。尾气焚烧炉异常得到解决,其SO2排放浓度满足工艺加热炉大气污染物特别排放限值(不高于50mg/m³)的要求。硫磺回收装置尾气焚烧炉实现长期运行。
