Analysis and suggestions of interfacial emulsification and polymerization of the oil-water separator in styrene unit

Abstract: The process and main function of the oil-water separator in styrene unit are briefly described. In view of the problems of oil-water interface emulsification and large amount of polymer in oil-water separator which seriously affect the production of the unit, the main reason is that the temperature of the material discharged into the oil-water separator is higher than 52 ℃ (the operating temperature of the oil-water separator), and the higher temperature will have an important impact on the oil-water emulsification. In view of this problem, the following countermeasures and measures are proposed to inhibit oil-water emulsification and styrene polymerization based on the advanced experience and innovative process solutions of similar units and the production practice. Control the return water temperature no more than 52 ℃, pump away the emulsification layer regularly, add demulsifier, add neutralizing amine and add special polymerization inhibitor. After implementing the above measures, the similar devices have good effect on improving the emulsification of oil-water interface of oil-water separator and polymer blockage of stripping system.

摘要: 简述了油水分离器在苯乙烯装置内的主要功用。分析油水分离器出现的油水界面乳化和大量聚合物严重影响装置生产的问题,得出主要原因是装置内排入油水分离器的物料温度均高于52 ℃(油水分离器操作温度),而较高的温度会对油水乳化有严重影响。针对此问题,借鉴同类装置的先进经验和创新工艺解决方案,并结合生产实际情况建议采取以下抑制油水乳化和苯乙烯聚合的对策和措施:控制返回水温度不大于52 ℃、定期抽走乳化层、加入破乳剂、加注中和胺和加入专用阻聚剂等。在实施了以上措施后,对改善油水分离器油水界面乳化及汽提系统聚合物堵塞现象效果良好。
